Terms of Service

Cloth Goblin is a map-based directory of thrift stores, donation sites, and donation centers. We currently focus on locations that sell or accept secondhand and vintage clothing and accessories. Stores devoted exclusively to antique or vintage furniture are out of scope for now, though locations that carry both clothing and furniture remain eligible (see the "Also Furniture" community tag). We plan to expand to dedicated antique and furniture listings in a future release.

Some shops in scope operate beautifully without a website or social media presence, which makes it harder for us to confirm details like hours, location accuracy, or whether the business is still active. Locations without an online footprint may take longer to appear on the map. If your shop fits our scope and isn’t yet listed, we’re glad you exist — please reach out at support@clothgoblin.com and we’ll work to get you on the map.

We provide this service on a best-effort basis. Location data may be inaccurate or out of date — always verify directly with a store before visiting.

• You must be 13 or older to create an account.
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• You may not create accounts for others without their permission.
• Display names must not contain profanity, slurs, or otherwise vulgar, offensive, or misleading language. We reserve the right to change display names that violate this policy without notice.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts at our sole discretion for violating these Terms, including but not limited to: offensive display names, abusive behaviour, spam submissions, or attempts to circumvent the service. Suspended or terminated accounts forfeit any remaining subscription time and are not entitled to refunds.

Thrifter Unlock ($1 one-time): Grants full access to the map for as long as your account remains active. A web unlock (purchased via clothgoblin.com or Stripe) carries over across all web browsers when signed into the same account. Mobile app purchases (iOS App Store or Google Play) are processed separately by the respective platform and are subject to that platform's refund policy. If you have purchased on web and also wish to use the mobile app, a separate in-app purchase may be required, and vice versa. If you cancel your account and later create a new one, a new purchase is required.

Goblin Subscription ($4.99/month): Grants full map access plus Goblin community features (reactions, unlimited location suggestions). Renews monthly. Cancel any time via your account settings or by emailing us.

Org Dashboard Subscription ($6.99/month): Allows your organisation (thrift store, donation center, or charity) to manage and list locations on the map. Renews monthly. Cancel any time via your account settings or by emailing us.

Map Unlock Credit: If you purchased the $1 web (Stripe) Thrifter Unlock and later start a Goblin or Org Dashboard subscription through our website, we'll automatically apply your $1 as a one-time credit toward your first month of that subscription. The credit is single-use per unlock: if you subscribe, cancel, and resubscribe, the credit is not reapplied on the second subscription. The credit only applies to subscriptions started through our website (Stripe); subscriptions started through the iOS App Store or Google Play are processed separately by those platforms and the credit cannot be applied to them. We may discontinue this credit at any time; any unredeemed credit that existed before the change will still be honored on your next website subscription start.

Cancellation Policy: When you cancel a subscription, your subscription benefits remain active until the end of the current billing period. No partial-month refunds are issued. After the billing period ends, your account will revert to a standard Thrifter account with map access intact (Goblin and Center subscribers receive map access as part of their subscription and retain it even after cancellation, unless they cancel their account entirely).

Account Cancellation: You may cancel your account at any time from your account settings. Cancelling your account will permanently delete your data and revoke all access, including map access. Any active subscription will be cancelled at the end of the current billing period. Account cancellation is irreversible.

• Free Thrifter accounts may submit up to 1 location suggestion.
• Unlocked Thrifter accounts ($1 one-time) may submit up to 10 location suggestions.
• Goblin accounts ($4.99/month) may submit unlimited location suggestions.
• Org Dashboard accounts ($6.99/month) may add unlimited locations directly.
• Submitted locations are reviewed before appearing on the map (typically 24–48 hours).
• We may reject or remove submissions that are inaccurate, inappropriate, or duplicates.
• Locations associated with individuals, businesses, or organisations that appear on the U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) list, or on comparable sanctions lists maintained by the United Nations, European Union, United Kingdom, or other governments, are not eligible for inclusion. We may remove such listings at any time without notice.
• By submitting a location you grant us a licence to display that information publicly.

Goblin subscribers may suggest community tags for locations (for example: "Nonprofit", "Luxury Vintage", "Upcycles", "Online Store", or "Also a Drop Site"). Tags help other users discover what makes a location special.

• Tag suggestions are reviewed by our team before being applied to a location.
• We may reject suggestions that are inaccurate, misleading, or inappropriate.
• Approved tags are displayed publicly on the location's listing.
• We reserve the right to add, remove, or modify tags on any listing at our sole discretion.
• Submitting a tag suggestion does not guarantee it will be approved or displayed.

• Submit false, misleading, or spam location data.
• Submit, on behalf of, or seek inclusion of any individual, business, or organisation that appears on the U.S. OFAC Specially Designated Nationals list or any comparable government sanctions list.
• Scrape or bulk-download map data via automated means.
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits, paywalls, or security measures.
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
• Impersonate another person or organisation.
• Use profane, vulgar, offensive, or discriminatory language in display names, comments, or submissions.
• Harass, bully, or target other users of the service.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Without limiting the foregoing, Cloth Goblin and Friar Tek, LLC specifically disclaim the following:

• Location experiences: We are not responsible for your experience at any thrift store, donation site, donation center, or other location listed on the service, including but not limited to: safety, cleanliness, pricing, inventory availability, quality of merchandise, or conduct of staff or other visitors. You visit any listed location entirely at your own risk.
• Mapping accuracy: We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any location data, including but not limited to: addresses, map pin placement, coordinates, hours of operation, phone numbers, website URLs, or descriptions. Map pins are approximate. Always verify details directly with a location before visiting.
• Quality of goods: We are not responsible for the quality, condition, authenticity, safety, or value of any items found at, purchased from, or donated to any location listed on the service.
• No endorsement: Listing a location on Cloth Goblin does not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, vetting, or certification of that location, organization, or business by Cloth Goblin or Friar Tek, LLC.
• Personal safety and property: We are not responsible for any property damage, personal injury, theft, illness, or any other loss that occurs at, near, or during travel to or from any listed location.
• Donation organizations: Donation bin and donation center listings are informational only. We make no representations regarding the legitimacy, charitable status, tax-deductibility, or practices of any donation organization listed on the service.
• Third-party routing: The "Build My Route" feature and driving/walking/transit directions rely on Google Maps and other third-party services. We are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or safety of any driving directions, estimated travel times, or route suggestions provided by these services.
• User-submitted content: Locations may be submitted by community members. We do not independently verify all user-submitted location data and are not responsible for inaccuracies in community contributions.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Friar Tek, LLC shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to damages arising from visiting locations listed on the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

You acknowledge that you use the information on Cloth Goblin at your own risk and that you are solely responsible for any decisions you make based on that information, including the decision to visit any location, purchase any item, or donate any goods. Friar Tek, LLC has no liability for any real-world interactions, transactions, or experiences at listed locations.

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

Price changes: If we increase the price of any subscription or in-app purchase, we will give you at least 14 days' notice before the new price takes effect for existing subscribers. Price decreases or promotional pricing take effect immediately and do not require advance notice.
